Registered Social Worker & Therapist in London, Ontario
About Alyssa
Alyssa offers individual and couples counselling.
She supports people who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward. She has a particular interest in working with women who are navigating difficult relationships or life changes and may find themselves putting everyone else’s needs before their own. She offers a space to talk through these experiences, explore boundaries, and build confidence in making decisions that feel right for them.
Alyssa wants therapy to feel like a place where you can be yourself and talk openly without worrying about being judged. She will work with you to make sense of what you’re going through, find ways to cope, and work towards changes at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Alyssa is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Social Work and an Honours BA in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo. She completed her diploma in Community and Justice Services at Algonquin College and is currently completing her postgraduate certificate in Mental Health and Addiction there.
Her experience includes supporting women and children experiencing violence, as well as refugees and international students affected by war. These experiences have shaped her understanding of how relationships, circumstances, and access to support can affect our mental health. Her practice is grounded in trauma-informed and anti-oppressive approaches, with time taken to understand each person’s experiences and what matters to them.
Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys reading and hiking, and can often be found walking her dog Charles or spending time with family and friends. She has travelled to 44 countries and lived in seven, which has been a big part of her love of learning about different people and places.

A bit abour your background or history, and what goals or changes you’re looking for. We will also review some practical things like confidentiality and how we will work together. You do not need to prepare. Just show up as you are.

Yes, as a Registered Social Worker (RSW), services are covered by the majority of extended health insurance and workplace benefits plans in Ontario, such as Sun Life, Canada Life, OTIP, Manulife, Green Shield more. However, because every plan is unique, we always recommend giving a quick call to your insurance company to review your coverage for a Registered Social Worker.
Check out our Rates and Insurance page for more details about this, or call our clinic and talk to our administrator.

The free 20-minute meet-and-greet is a brief, casual chat to see if we are a good fit. We’ll talk about what you are looking for, discuss my approach, and answer any questions you have. We won't dive into your deep history or do any clinical work here. It’s just a short introductory interview.
The first therapy session (the intake) is when we will officially start working together. It is a full-length session that is 50 minutes long where we review your confidentiality agreement, gather a history of your well-being, and map out your specific goals for therapy.
