Julie offers individual couselling for adults.
Hello and welcome! My name is Julie Gonzalez, and I am a bilingual Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I hold a Specialization and Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology, and I bring 19 years of heartfelt experience to the field of mental, emotional, and psychological healthcare, providing individual therapy from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective.
Taking the first step toward therapy takes courage. Using a holistic, biopsychosocial approach, we will explore at all areas of your life, biological, emotional, and social, to understand your unique story. Together, we will build practical coping strategies and foster deep emotional growth. From our very first session, we will focus on building self-awareness and commitment, ensuring your therapeutic journey is meaningful, transformative, and tailored to your needs.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with adults, both in-person and virtually across the Americas and Europe. Whether you are navigating daily stressors or looking for deep clinical support for mental health conditions, we will work hand-in-hand to cultivate sustainable resilience and lasting well-being.
I offer specialized, compassionate support for:
• Mood & Anxiety: Depressive disorders, suicidal ideation, and anxiety disorders.
• Emotional & Behavioral Health: Emotional regulation and coping strategies for health/illness processes.
• Relationships & Connection: Interpersonal and family dynamics, social skills, and attachment disorders.
On a personal note, I am originally from Colombia and am proud to offer therapy in both English and Spanish. I deeply value the warmth of family life, the joy of music and movies, and the adventure of discovering new places. It would be my absolute privilege to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing.

Yes, in most cases your session with a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) is covered by the majority of extended health benefits plans in Ontario, like Sun Life, Canada Life, and more. However, we cannot direct bill for services with a RP (Qualifying) as most insurance companies do not allow this option. So you will need to pay for your sessions out of pocket (debit, credit card, or etransfer) and we will give you a receipt with all the details that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If you screenshot the receipt, and upload it to your insurance provider’s mobile app, and you have direct deposit set up, then this will speed up the process and you should have your reimbursement quickly - sometimes 24-48 hours depending on your insurance company.
We strongly recommend that you call your insurance provider before your first appointment and ask them if your extended health plan covers services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). You can also ask how much your annual coverage is, and if there is a cap or co-pay for each session. Do they cover 100% or 80% of the fee, for example.
A qualifying registered psychotherapist practices under a supervisor, and some insurance providers require a therapist to have a full “RP” status, and not a qualifying status.
Check out our Rates and Insurance page for more details about this, or call our clinic and talk to our administrator.

The free 20-minute meet-and-greet is a brief, casual chat to see if we are a good fit. We’ll talk about what you are looking for, discuss my approach, and answer any questions you have. We won't dive into your deep history or do any clinical work here. It’s just a short introductory interview.
The first therapy session (the intake) is when we will officially start working together. It is a full-length session that is 50 minutes long where we review your confidentiality agreement, gather a history of your well-being, and map out your specific goals for therapy.
